CAUTION! READ CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING THIS LEG. THERE ARE MANY ROCKS AND ROUGH SPOTS ON THIS 5-MILE LEG. VEHICLES ARE PROHIBITED BEYOND THE HANDOFF POINT. IT IS UNWISE TO RUN THROUGH PUDDLES, ESPECIALLY ON THE FIRST HALF OF THE LEG, BECAUSE THERE ARE MANY SUBMERGED ROCKS. ON THE FIRST HALF OF THE LEG (before you reach the lighthouse -just a small steel structure-on the point) THERE ARE VARIOUS ROADS AND TRAILS TO CHOOSE FROM. FOR THE FIRST MILE AND A HALF FOLLOW THE TELEPHONE POLE LINE AND STAY WITH THAT ROAD TRAIL TO THE ROCK BARRIER AND STEEL GATE AT ABOUT MILE 2 (DON'T TAKE THE TRAILS TO THE RIGHT TOWARD THE OCEAN). PAST THE GATE THERE IS ONE ROAD TO THE LEFT THAT LOOKS PRETTY GOOD, BUT IT DEADENDS AT THE TOP OF A DANGEROUS DROPOFF. AFTER YOU TURN LEFT AT THE END OF THE POINT, THE ROADS MERGE INTO ONE. THE MOST DANGEROUS PLACE.

This event is not a "Fun Run" therefore exercise caution when running this leg.
